Yes there are more young overweight kids, 5 to 12 yrs old, now than 60 years ago.  Sad as it is, some of those overweight kids carry their weight problems all the way to their adulthood.  When I was a kid there were no McDonalds and other fast food establishments.

We walked everywhere schools, stores etc.  If you were fortunate you owned a bike and could peddle yourself all over the place. We had no computer hand held games to sit down all day and play. All kids had chores in their own house that had to be complete before going out to play.

We played rough and hard and ran most of the time.  There were about 25 kids on our block where we lived. Funny, there was only one overweight kid on our block.  He did not like playing and running and riding his bike with the other kids.  Yup he sat home eating and snacking all day. Yup he carried his weight right into adulthood and beyond.  He was a victim of lack of exercise and overeating.

Everyone, including teens and younger, needs to look at their health situation and ask do I want to remain overweight?  If you do not do anything now then you are headed toward obesity and morbidly obesity.  Your body will gradually develop diseases and you will become a causality of our modern world attitudes, processed foods, and lack of exercise.

Water:
Wonderful water.  Yes our creator gave us wonderful water to drink and nourish our body.  Water is perfect for hydrating, removing toxins and various poisons from the body.  Yes everyone needs to drink more water or freshly made juice.  The soda and soft drinks in your refrigerator are hurting your health and making the suppliers rich at your health expense.  Are these suppliers concerned with your health?  NO!  A juice blender in the home will encourage making healthful vegetable and fruit drinks for your good health. Purchase a complete case of bottled water and keep the water handy for all to take.  Take bottled water to school and work instead of sodas and soft drinks.  You will find that fresh made juice will actually decrease hunger and produces very little calories.  Avoid shake and smoothie drinks.

Let us get serious and throw out all frozen meals, processed food packages, including diet foods you may have .  Processed foods are loaded with excessive preservatives, salt and sugar.  They are not good for your health and will pack on the pounds.  What these foods do is trigger and increase your hunger pangs so you wind up eating more than you should and start packing on the pounds. Start purchasing fresh produce and fresh fruits instead for the largest of your food intake.  Do not forget the saying that is so true – You are what you eat! Buy fresh produce and meats and cook at home!

Nutrition:
Good nutrition always starts at home.  Buy fresh foods and meats and cook at home.  I see so many mothers take their kids to the fast food establishments and spend lots of money.  The kids get chucked full of chicken nuggets and they start putting on the pounds early in life.  Home cooking has become a forgotten pastime.  Poor overweight health and bad eating habits are rampant today. These habits are learned at home while the child is young and are carried right into adulthood.  You have to keep this in mind. Mothers need to take a good, hard and honest look at what her entire family is eating. Teens and under learn their eating habits from what they see at home. Get rid of the potato chips and provide nutritious fresh fruit and vegetables.

Exercise:
Your teens and under need to exercise.  The body needs to move and work for good health. You could go for walks with your children in the park or around where you live. Walking is the perfect health producing exercise and costs nothing. You parents can influence your children toward bike riding or learning to skateboard.  Some like to play base ball, basketball, hockey, football etc.  Do not let them experience the modern day sitting death sentence.

Weight Loss? What Happened to The DNA Health Test? 5 Reasons!

Whoa! Now what?  Frankenstein’s DNA health laboratory is closed to the public before it got started. No there will not be available at this time for all people to purchase their new personal health DNA test packages.  These health DNA test packages were developed to aid people in their own health prognosis and prevention of possible future diseases etc.  Yes supposedly you can discover if you will have a possible future health problem and be able to thwart its onset.  Pretty neat right?

This health DNA test could help those who are overweight, obese and morbidly obese.  This home health test package offers identification of genetic probabilities and possible disarranged cell structure for all sorts of diseases like cancer, heart, and others. Yes it provides your own DNA structure makeup for health analysis.

A health DNA analysis of your DNA structure can provide incite as to your DNA health that is now or may occur as time goes along.  What are the chances of you becoming obese, developing cancer or heart disease etc.?  Are you already overweight, obese, or morbidly obese then this could identify DNA areas needing correction.  Great stuff right?

The test also claims to offer a window into the chances of becoming obese, developing psoriasis and going blind etc. For those thinking of starting a family, it could alert them to their risk of having a baby with cystic fibrosis and other genetic disorders etc. The test could also help users on how cholesterol-lowering drugs, caffeine and blood thinners might affect their health.

OK!  Now what is the problem?  Why is Walgreens holding back and not providing the Health DNA test packages. Well there a variety of reasons.  We will examine some of the concerns.

Reason #1

The new test packages were being provided to the general public through the “Walgreens” stores.  The company “Pathway Genomics” produced the test packages and was ready to provide them to the general public.  However the good old long arm of “BIG BROTHER” the FDA had not put and has not put its stamp of approval on the new DNA health products.

Reason #2

Several groups have raised concerns noting that such tests offer incomplete information. They say DNA results about disease risk etc. and more so for incurable diseases should only be done with professional health counseling and not with a home test kit.

Reason #3

Today’s health professionals and DNA developers themselves have a very limited knowledge of genes that contribute to diseases, such as heart disease, cancer, or diabetes etc. DNA information is much less effective compared with family history in calculating a person’s chance of developing these diseases.

Reason #4

How to use this health DNA test and interpret, regulate and guard against abuse is still up in the air. The new tests come as a challenge to bioethicists, geneticists, doctors, patients and yes the federal regulators. The fear is that this will open up a whole new can of worms that will spin out of control.

Reason #5

What if the test indicated that an individual was OK and not at any health risk?  The claim is that such test results could give many buyers a dangerous false sense of security.  Then the other side of the coin would be needless alarm and living in an impending health fear. The results however could encourage people to adopt healthful lifestyles and avoid personal health carelessness and risks. There is un-comfortableness as to the manner that the public will properly use the DNA health test.

There are a lot more objections, questions and reasons from all kinds of individuals, groups and agency’s putting a squash on the private home DNA tests.  There is much concern about moral, ethical, confidentiality and willful misuse issues of the public health DNA tests.  For weight loss we need to take charge of our own situation and use the tried and true methods available.  Acai is a good solution for natural weight loss.

Weight Loss? Watch Out! Are Other People Making Your Diet Fail?

Diet and weight loss programs are notoriously hard to stick to. For many people starting and successfully completing a diet is one of the toughest things to do. It is also one of the most rewarding.

In this article I want to make you aware of something that can have a huge affect on you losing weight. And believe it or not it has nothing to do with what kind of diet you have or whether or not you exercise. Instead in this article we want to focus on how other people can stop you from losing weight.

You can be made of mentally strong stuff. You might have stuck with your diet and exercise program without a blip for weeks. And then, out of the blue, you are invited to a meal with friends or maybe a work lunch. You know you are going to have to eat out and you start to get a little nervous.  Sticking to your diet at home is fine because you are in control. You have picked the food in your cupboards and fridge.

Eating out is a whole different story.  Friends, family or work colleagues may be eating the fattiest and most unhealthy meals on the menu and you feel tempted. You are only human after all.

So what can you eat without destroying your diet? Well first the odd blip here and there is fine. You should have at least one meal a week that is your favorite food no matter how unhealthy within reason. so that you can reward yourself for eating healthily all week. However this is not always possible. Sometimes, because of work or whatever, you have to eat out regularly.  There is a menu in front of you full of goodies. People around you egging you on to “get the ribs” or some other unhealthy dish.

First rule in this situation. It is vitally important that people know you are on a diet program. If they know this, and you are intent on losing weight, they are much less likely to try to encourage you to eat something that will get you off track. So be honest and up front from the start explaining that you are in the process of shedding a few pounds and want to stick to it. If they are genuine people they will be impressed by your strength of mind and character.

 

Second rule when picking from the menu.  You need to pick something that is made up of mostly salads, vegetables or fruits. Ok, it will not taste as nice as the steaks and other feasts but it will allow you to stay on track and eat the healthiest things on the menu.

The problem with eating out is that even if the meals that could usually be quite healthy, like a chicken salad, can often be full of fat. Especially if there is a ton of dressing on it. So it is best to order something that has no dressing and preferably no meat. Often restaurants fry the meat for speed and this is what makes the food so tasty but unfortunately also so unhealthy.

Raw vegetables are always a good bet because they help you burn fat by boosting your metabolism. So any raw vegetable dish without a dressing will keep you sticking to a healthy diet.

Another thing to do is to use control if there is a buffet cart there. It is important that when you lose weight you concentrate on eating regular, small sized meals throughout the day. A buffet cart can easily cause problems because it is so tempting to go back for seconds and then thirds.

Check the amount of food you are going to eat before you take that bite! If you think that the food provided to you exceed the portion control limit you are allowed, eat according to your portion limit and then carry the leftovers back home to be eaten on the next day. Ask for a box from the restaurant to help you carry the leftovers.

Drink water or pure fruit juice with your meal. Alcohol or fizzy drinks are packed full of calories and even if you had a salad, and three fizzy drinks the fizzy drinks calorie count will make your meal an unhealthy one with regards to your goals.

Eating out is OK. Yes to eat out now and again and is encouraged. However be sure that if this is a regular occurrence you exercise caution. You could find yourself being more and more impartial to the fatty foods that you have worked so hard to avoid. All it takes is a few meals for you to want to get off your diet and back onto your old program of unhealthy foods and fats.

Guess what?  Frankenstein’s laboratory is open again. This is new!  There will be available for all people to purchase new test packages that are developed to tell or suggest whether or not you are a candidate for future diabetes, cancer, and other physical problems etc.

This test package is big news for those who are overweight, obese and morbidly obese.  This home test package offers identification of genetic probabilities and disarranged cell structure. Yes it provides your own DNA structure makeup for analysis.  An analysis of your DNA structure can provide incite as to health things that will or may occur as time goes along.  What are the chances of you becoming obese, developing cancer or heart disease etc.? 

This test package is likened to foretelling your physical future. The hope being that you would be able to exercise prevention of all diseases and all other maladies.  Imagine taking an aspirin for your headache and now taking a DNA correction pill of some sort to maintain your good health.  In the area of weight loss efforts imagine no more diets and no more overweight, obesity and morbidly obese people.

Weight Loss? Is this a Good Idea – Eat Yourself Thin?

Most diet programs, whether they say it or not, rely on the fact you stop eating so much. Stop eating when you are full and reduce your portion size and you will lose weight. As crazy as it sounds the key to losing weight is to actually eat six smaller meals each day. In fact, many experts are now coming round to the idea that the three meals of breakfast, lunch and dinner should be supplemented with small in between snacks.

In between your usual three meals of breakfast, lunch and dinner you should add in three small

snack breaks. The reason for this is the less hungry you are through the day the less you will feel the need to reach for a high calorie chocolate bar after you have not eaten for a few hours.

Also, diets that actually restrict how much you eat do more harm than good because you are effectively starving your body. By doing this you actually end up storing more fat as your body attempts to conserve its energy.

The key here is not how much you eat but what you eat. Obviously eating pizza six times a day is not going to do you any good with regards to your weight loss goals. But, by knowing the right

foods, like fruits and vegetables you can actually eat more and weigh less. A healthy body can be created in the kitchen.

Another misrepresentation when it comes to diet programs is that the choices of what you have to eat are often bland and boring. They need not be! As long as you eat healthy foods in bulk the odd little snack of your favorite food will not do too much harm. Eat healthily all week and then once a week go crazy and have your favorite food no matter what it may be.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is skipping meals and gorging themselves to feed their hunger. Sometimes this can not be helped. You may have to work a long day and not have the chance to eat. However this will result in additional unwanted fat.

The upshot is this rather than having three large meals a day break them up into six smaller meals all two to three hours apart. This will not only give you more energy throughout the day but it will enable your body to process the food in good time and therefore your body will be able to burn calories naturally throughout the day.

It is useless when following a diet plan that you are struggling with and makes you unhappy. Many of the popular fad diets focus on quick results.  There are no quick results in weight loss results. You might as well be rabbit food. This quick weight loss promise will just make you disappointed and cause a lack of your energy.

Instead focus on eating regularly and having the odd treat here and there. By doing this, coupled with a simple exercise plan, you will soon notice that you actually eat more and lose weight at the same time as increasing your energy levels throughout the day.
